There probably is nothing more frustrating for me than looking back at old journals and asking myself “why”. Why did I not achieve a particular goal? Why did I not follow through on some really important things. I had that conversation with myself just last week. Sometimes, the reason can be a sense of overwhelm by the big picture. The more important the “thing” or goal is, the more resistance there is to actually be accomplishing it. It is very possible that we lie to ourselves and say the things we haven’t accomplished are things that really aren’t important. If it was, we would have taken action, right? Perhaps. Or, just maybe, we are afraid of showing up. Afraid of attempting and then failing. Afraid that this important thing is something we don’t believe is possible. Then we get stuck. And we procrastinate as a result. Not consciously – maybe – but certainly. Life gets in the way… there an emergency… always a good reason. Then days turn into weeks which turns into months and ugh… years. Then-Yes then -those awful things you tell yourself start showing up. “I’m lazy.” “I’m not good at this.” More lies.
I challenge you this week. Ask yourself if you have consistently the same excuses for lack of follow through. Ask yourself what it is you are really avoiding. Then push past it. Decide to show up every day and take some action toward your goal. Even if the action is as simple as listening to a podcast or as life changing as believing in yourself.

- Achievable: How can the goal be accomplished? What are the micro steps I need to take?
- Relevant: Does this seem worthwhile? Is this a good use of my time?
- Time Bound: When can I accomplish this goal? What
